Team CA+ is in Singapore and we’ve hit the ground running, as we secure more reviewers for the weekend’s event.
Tomorrow the reviewer selection lists are being sent out. So it’s the last day we will be offering packages. If you haven’t bought your package yet, you MUST do this before 12 noon Singapore time (that’s 2pm AEST or 4pm NZST)
On the review day we will try to make any spare meetings available for sale. These will be $150 each, so if you are considering buying tickets please grab that package now.
Creatives in Asia are always on the go. They are perpetually flying around the region and beyond, to oversee TV spots and photography, judge competitions, attend award ceremonies, and deliver presentations to clients and sister ad agencies around the globe.
And we are pleased that this is the calibre of reviewers we have at CA+, because they are actually in the thick of it, working with great teams of directors and photographers like you.
That’s why we always wait until a few days before the event to provide the final list of reviewers, to allow for all the ‘waiting for my production schedule’ people to confirm.
So don’t worry about choosing reviewers. We have you covered (especially if you registered first). But you must secure your ticket packages.
We are humbled that so many of our attendees from the last event are coming along again…however this means that we WILL run out of meeting packages, so please do go ahead and grab those meetings ASAP.
Just a few days before the event, we’ll ask you to select your preferred reviewers. This will give you the opportunity to access reviewers who sign up late, and we’ll do our very best to match you with your chosen people.
If you’ve registered you are already booked into the Sunday Sessions. If not, you can buy an all day pass for it here.
The flights are booked, accommodation waiting, and we can’t wait either!
Iris Singapore has been recognized by industry awards as one of the premier agencies in Asia, and we’re very lucky to have Deputy Creative Director, Shawn Foo, as one of our reviewers on Saturday 28th July.
Showing your work to Shawn gets you potentially in front of brands such as Samsung, Emirates, Phillips, Hugo Boss, Jagermeister, Lego, T Mobile, Marina Bay Sands, Starbucks, Hewlett Packard, and many more.
Our co chair Rob Earp (who quite frankly would give Chase Jarvis a run for his money) will be MC’ing a panel discussion with Reviewers and speakers on Sunday 29th July.
Last year we had amazingly frank discussions and creatives shared with us some super useful insider tidbits.
What questions do you want to ask them? Join the Facebook group and add them to the thread.
Did you know that shooting an award winning campaign can catapult you to success? Creatives all around the world call you asking you to shoot their campaign, so it has a better chance of achieving the same success.
That’s why Rupert England is a brilliant reviewer to get your folio in front of this July.
Rupert is creative director specialising in regional brand building campaigns. He has over 25 years international experience in the ad industry in Asia, Greater China, the Middle East, Europe and Africa, and 60+ international advertising awards, including the elusive Gold and Silver Cannes Lions.
On top of this, he has a United Nations medal for a public services campaign, has been tweeted about by Hilary Clinton and Stephen Fry!
Rupert has always had a deep connection to photography, and is really looking forward to seeing your work this July. Register here for first dibs on reviewer selection.
We’re all set to go to Singapore and lots of photographers are booking their flights. one of the common questions is where to stay.
The event is being held at the wonderful Shooting Gallery, but being a busy production house with multiple studios, it’s not in the centre of town.
Getting around Singapore is super easy (and cheap), so we recommend staying in the hub. We like central Singapore and Chinatown as you can eat at multiple hawkers markets, stay in converted shophouses and experience life around the river.
Better still, it’s where many of the ad agencies are, and if you arrive before or stay on after the weekend you might just bump into a few creatives and reviewers in the local bars 🙂
Air BnB has some great options, and there are tons of hotels in the area. In fact, if you join our Crack the Asian Market Facebook group we’re starting a thread so you can hook up with other photographers and share accomodation.
We’re super proud to introduce one of our reviewers, John Scott, creative director at Ward6.
John’s career began in fashion & editorial design. Branching out, he moved to the creative design & editorial studio – Deluxe & Associates. There he developed a strong sense for graphic design, editorial design and creative communication under the watchful eye of James deVries and co.
With a solid design foundation established, he then freelanced in various design and advertising agencies in the Asia Pacific region until eventually finding a new home in Advertising at Ward6 in Singapore. Working with Grant and Hugh, he developed a strong sense of conceptual thinking and art directing.
John then joined McCann Health working with Sean Riley and co. There he built a strong portfolio of film, digital and integrated ideas working on regional brands and accounts across the APAC region.
While working in advertising and polishing his craft, John learnt from many great people who have contributed to the well rounded creative he is today. 13+ years on, he has made many friends across many countries.
John’s strong interest in photography and film has motivated him to make a special detour between other commitments to join our team of reviewers at CA+ on Saturday 28th July.
We’re really looking forward to having him on our team 🙂
It’s no surprise to hear that our Co-Chair Christina Force will be speaking at CA+ this year. She just can help helping photographers.
Christina built a huge following in Singapore, Hong Kong and China when she touted her photographers’ folios across the region over the course of 15 years when she owned The Collective Force. Since selling her photographers agency (which is still prominent in the region), she has consulted to photographers around the world and helped them crack the Asian market. She’s also consulted to photographers based in Asia and Asia based creatives who want to become photographers.
Christina has been flown around New Zealand, Australia, and Asia by various photographic associations to speak to groups ranging from 12 to 350 photographers. She’s taught a class at the New York Academy of Film, and her programmes are sought after and now have a high benchmark, you’ll be glad to know you’ll get your registration fee’s value back with this one keynote.
Christina will be talking about ways to get noticed in Asia, and how to build relationships with those decision makers you’ve just connected with.
One of our alumni, Sebastian Tan is an agent and producer with experience across Asia.
We’ll be running the event from The Shooting Gallery so it’s no surprise he’s kindly given us the weekend to review folios too. This experience is not to be missed.
You really must get your work in front of Sham. He’s an engaging and warm creative, with years of experience at some of the top agencies in Singapore, including DDB Worldwide and Ogilvy. After attending our last event, he wants to see your work and he wants to work with you.

We are thrilled to announce that Creative Asia Plus, 2015, will be taking place on November14th and 15th in the rich cultural melting potof Singapore.
